Squint

Patient Details:
Girl, 5 years old

Problem Faced:
She had a Squint in her eyes. She had normal eyes at the time of birth but the Squint developed in the last three years and it was progressive. She was also required to change her specs frequently due to changes in her vision. Her doctor suggested that she needed surgery but it could not be performed at such a small age. Being a girl, the Squint and frequent requirements of changing the specs were a concern for her parents. They wanted to have a solution to this problem.

Treatment Adopted:
Her assessment was done based on the Acupuncture diagnosis procedure which include pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and enquiring. Based on diagnostic findings the acupuncture treatment plan was worked out and diet and lifestyle corrections were suggested. She was advised for 20 sessions of acupuncture treatment on alternate days. After 15 days the same course was repeated.

Result:
After the first course of the treatment, her Squint was reduced. After the second course of the treatment, the Squint was not seen. During post 6-month follow-up after the treatment, it was observed that her vision was stable and there was no requirement to change the specs.
