Dry Eyes (Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca)
Patient Details:
Female, 54 years old
Problem Faced:
She was diagnosed with dry eyes. She complained of feeling weakness, redness, and itching of the eyes. She was required to put eye drops in her eyes every 15 minutes as prescribed by her doctor. She has been facing this problem for the past 6 months. She wanted to get rid of this problem.
Treatment Adopted:
Her assessment was done based on the Acupuncture diagnosis procedure which include pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and enquiring. Based on diagnostic findings the acupuncture treatment plan was worked out and diet and lifestyle corrections were suggested. She was advised for 20 sessions of acupuncture treatment on alternate days. After 7 days the same course was repeated twice.
Result:
After the first course of the treatment, the frequency of eye drops was changed from 15 minutes to one hour. After the second course of the treatment, the frequency was changed from every one hour to only thrice a day. After the third course of the treatment, she was free from the usage of eye drops, as her eyes are sufficiently moist naturally.
